How it all began...

The Hurns Brewing Company was originally established as the Hurns Mineral Water Company by Arthur A. Hurn, in the late 1800s.

The first Hurns premises were based in Northampton Lane in Swansea and initially produced bottled soda water, ginger beer, lemonade and cordials, serving the local community.

In 1966, Arthur Hurn's son, Idris, died and Idris's son (who had been running the business) unexpectedly died a month later. The company experienced some tumultous times until Idris's grandson Phillip and his sister, Connie were old enough to take over in 1976. Under their leadership, the company thrived once more. Hurns changed direction to concentrate on distribution and wholesale and  has been serving Swansea and the surrounding area ever since.
